Hey Sis!
Life moves so fast, and often we’re left feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and unsure. But what if we could slow down, release the worries about tomorrow, and trust that God is with us in every step? In today’s post, we’ll reflect on a powerful scripture from Exodus and dive into the devotional Perfect Peace: Choosing Calm Over Chaos by Maya Dawson.
In Exodus 3:11-12, Moses questions God’s calling on his life, asking, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” But God reassures him, saying, “I will be with you.”
Moses had no idea what that would look like in the coming chapters. Yet, through the plagues, the parting of the Red Sea, and the wilderness journey, God’s presence was with Moses every step of the way, preparing him for what was to come.
Much like Moses, we can feel overwhelmed by the tasks or callings placed before us, but God’s reassurance to Moses is the same for us today: He will be with us. In moments of uncertainty, we can lean into His presence, trusting that He goes before us and is already in our tomorrow.
One of the most powerful things I read recently, during our Circle Time Sisterhood prayer call, came from the Jesus Calling devotional. It says:
“Your gravest danger is worrying about tomorrow. If you try to carry tomorrow’s burdens today, you will stagger under the load and eventually fall flat. You must discipline yourself to live within the boundaries of today. It is in the present moment that I walk close to you, helping you carry your burdens.”
This is a reminder that we are only called to live in the present. God meets us where we are—right here and right now. When we carry tomorrow’s burdens today, we miss the opportunity to lean into His presence, which is our greatest source of peace.
In our study of Perfect Peace: Choosing Calm Over Chaos, Maya Dawson talks about how our relationship with God grants us access to perfect peace in every situation. No matter the chaos, we can carry that peace with us into every interaction, decision, and circumstance.
It’s easy to get caught up in the noise of the world, but we are invited to embrace Silence, Solitude, and Surrender. These practices allow us to experience and share the peace of God with those around us.
In each season of life, these habits will look different, but the truth remains: God’s peace is available to us, and we can experience it no matter our circumstances.
The truth is that God is calling us to a higher way of living—one that is grounded in peace. This is not a peace that depends on our circumstances but one that is rooted in His constant presence.
My prayer for you today is that you would allow these habits of perfect peace to take root in your life. No matter how busy or chaotic your days may seem, God’s peace is the higher way. It’s available to you.
How might you intentionally create moments of silence, solitude, and surrender today that allow you to experience and share God’s perfect peace with those around you?
Father God, thank you for calling us into relationship with You. We get to call You Father, and for that, we are so grateful. I pray for every woman reading this today—that You would make a way for her to spend intentional time with You, even when it seems impossible. Fill her heart with Your peace, love, and joy, and may she overflow with Your Spirit into everyone she meets.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
